The problem with venting is there is so many ways to do it. I always pick the wrong ways. Like punching the wall so hard that my nuckels and fingers break. Not cool. What are some tips so that I can vent the right way

The key to venting is knowing 3 letters (How and Who). If you are an introvert (someone who keeps things to themselves), it becomes a question of HOW you vent. Some hold it in until they become self destructive. Others become lifeless. Introverts have to develop routines that relieve stress (such as working out or writing).

Extroverts (someone who wears their heart on their sleeve) sometimes explode or say the wrong things to the wrong person(this is the WHO). Sometimes these aggressors pick fights (physically or verbally). Often times, they just yell and scream. Extroverts need to develop ways to cool off and think about the situation. Try taking a walk if this is who you are so that you can clear your mind. Its hard to imagine yourself in the opposite position, but an Extrovert needs to step away from the situation before taking action. It doesn't matter which type of person that you are...but it does matter if you KNOW which person you are so you can begin to develop the strategy that works best for you.

We never want to listen to our parents, but you have to remember that we are just like them..in looks, feelings, and temperment! So if a parent offers advice on how to handle something, you should take it..because they've had the practice dealing with the exact same emotions you are going through, even if it's weird or akward hearing it from them.

Try writing. Let it out in journal entries or poetry or stories. Sometimes it works for me.
